Homestead Village is delighted to announce that a favorite guest is returning to perform at HVCA on January 19th:  Dr. Kayleen Asbo.  This well-known musician, cultural historian, and lecturer at the San Francisco Opera and Symphony has drawn overflow audiences in previous years, and we are thrilled to have her come back.

This time her theme, in a multi-media presentation, will be the way in which Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony inspired the celebrated “Beethoven Frieze” by Gustav Klimt, currently on view at the Legion of Honor Museum.   We will learn about the alchemical symbolism, the references to Greek mythology and the deeper psychological meaning suffusing these two masterpieces of transformation and joy.

The event will begin at 1:30 pm on

January 19, 2018.   Reservations are required by calling Christina Oldenburg at 415-388-9315.    The usual Homestead Village hospitality will assure refreshments and a chance to socialize with neighbors.
