Welcome to the Homestead Valley Music Festival 2016 page!

Bay Area’s Brigham Brothers to Headline Solar Powered 2016 Music Festival!

Presented by the Homestead Valley Community Association and sponsored by
American Solar, Marin Horizon School, Lagunitas Brewing Company, and many others!

We are excited to announce the lineup for the 2016 Homestead Valley Music Festival, to be held once again on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend in the meadow at the Homestead Valley Community Center. We’ll also be 100% solar powered!

Headlining the festival this year is The Brigham Brothers, the Bay Area’s unique blend of dance-based roots music integrating Southern rock, country, zydeco, and roadhouse rhythm & blues into an especially rich musical gumbo!

Opening this year’s show will be our featured local youth performers, Canopy, coming to us straight from Redwood High School. Canopy’s 10-piece R&B big band delighted the audience at the Marin County fair following up their Ecuador Earthquake relief benefit at Sweetwater in June.

Next up will be Homestead Valley’s own, Maverick, bringing the sweet jazz guitar sounds that have only increased his legendary status as the unelected mayor of Homestead Valley.

Following Maverick will be local son, Matt Jaffe and the Distractions, whose energetic blend of power-pop, punk and new wave have propelled them to opening for the likes of Mavis Staples and embarking on an extensive tour last year with Blues Traveler.

Rounding out this year’s lineup is Dirty Cello, bringing a high energy and unique spin on blues and bluegrass led by vivacious cross-over cellist, Rebecca Roudman. It’s cello like you’ve never heard before!

Lots of food, beverage and fun will accompany the excellent musical offering including two amazing food trucks, hot dogs for the kids, desserts, and of course Lisa’s Bar in the Meadow run by Homestead resident Lisa Santos. Coffee will be provided by Homestead Village (courtesy of Coyote Coffee) and a cool kids craft area rounding out a day for the entire family.

The festival is, of course,
free to attend, however we are asking that donations are provided at the gates to offset the costs of the bands and equipment.
